Terms of service
AlterFox – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 10 September 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to quotations, orders, projects and services provided by Terri Hudson, operating under the trading name AlterFox (“AlterFox”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
AlterFox provides services including website design and setup, branding and design, business print and promotional materials, branded workwear and digital business support.
By accepting a quotation, making payment, approving artwork or a proof, instructing us to begin work, or otherwise confirming an order or project, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
1. Quotations
Unless otherwise stated:
- Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
- Quotations are based on the information and requirements supplied by the customer at the time.
- Prices may change if the scope, quantities, specifications or requirements change.
- Additional work requested outside the agreed scope may be quoted or charged separately.
- Delivery charges and known third-party costs will be identified where reasonably possible before an order or project is confirmed.
A quotation does not require AlterFox to begin work until it has been accepted and any applicable payment, information or approval required to commence work has been received.
2. Orders & Projects
The process will vary depending on the products or services being supplied.
For physical products such as print, promotional materials and workwear, customers will normally be required to confirm relevant specifications, quantities, sizes and artwork before production.
For website, branding, design and digital projects, the scope, deliverables and requirements will be agreed as appropriate to the individual project.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete information required for AlterFox to carry out the agreed work.
Work or production may not begin until any required payment has been received and the necessary information, content and approvals have been provided.
3. Payment
Payment requirements will be stated on the applicable quotation or invoice.
Depending on the nature and value of the work, AlterFox may require:
- Full payment before work or production begins;
- A deposit followed by staged or final payment; or
- Another payment schedule agreed in writing.
Where payment is required before production or a particular stage of a project, work may be paused until payment is received.
Invoices must be paid by the payment deadline stated on the invoice.
For qualifying business-to-business debts, AlterFox reserves the right to exercise statutory rights relating to overdue commercial payments, including interest and recovery costs where applicable.
4. Customer-Supplied Content & Intellectual Property
Customers may provide materials including:
- Logos and artwork
- Photographs
- Written content
- Business information
- Names and personalisation information
- Website content
- Documents and other files
- Account or login information where required for an agreed service
By providing materials to AlterFox, you confirm that you have the necessary rights, licences and permissions for us to use them for the purpose of completing the agreed work.
Customers are responsible for ensuring supplied materials do not unlawfully infringe another person's copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.
AlterFox may refuse material that we reasonably believe to be unlawful, infringing or inappropriate.
5. Proofs & Customer Approval
Where appropriate, AlterFox may provide artwork, mock-ups or proofs for approval before final production or publication.
Customers are responsible for checking all relevant details, including:
- Spelling and wording
- Names and contact information
- Layout
- Quantities and sizes
- Artwork and logo placement
- Information displayed
- Overall design
Colours displayed on screens or produced on home or office printers may differ from the final physical product due to differences between screens, materials and printing or production processes.
Once a customer has approved a proof, AlterFox will not normally be responsible for errors that were present and reasonably apparent in the approved proof.
This does not affect statutory rights where applicable.
Changes requested after approval may result in additional costs or delays, particularly where production has already commenced.
6. Design & Branding Services
The scope and deliverables of design and branding work will be agreed as part of the quotation or project correspondence.
Reasonable amendments within the original agreed brief may be included where specified.
Significant changes to the original brief, additional concepts or additional work may require a revised quotation or additional charge.
Final files will be supplied in the formats agreed for the project.
Third-party assets including stock imagery, fonts, software, templates or licensed materials remain subject to their respective licence terms.
7. Website Design & Digital Services
Website and digital projects will be completed according to the agreed project scope.
AlterFox provides website design, setup and configuration services using established third-party website platforms and digital tools.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, our website services do not include bespoke software development, custom application development or specialist technical, legal, cybersecurity or regulatory consultancy.
AlterFox may use a range of professional software, design platforms and AI-assisted tools as part of the creative and development process. These tools may be used to assist with developing ideas, drafting or refining content, design development, problem-solving and website configuration. All work remains directed, reviewed and delivered by AlterFox in accordance with the customer's agreed brief and project scope.
Customers are responsible for supplying requested content, photographs, business information, feedback, approvals and account access within a reasonable timeframe.
Delays in receiving these materials may result in project timescales being extended or work being rescheduled.
Unless specifically included in the quotation, ongoing services such as:
- Website maintenance
- Content updates
- Platform subscriptions
- Domain renewals
- Paid applications
- Advertising
- Ongoing SEO work
- Ongoing social media management
- Ongoing technical support
are not automatically included following completion of the initial project.
Where AlterFox assists with third-party services or platforms, those services remain subject to the third party's own terms, pricing, availability and policies.
8. Website Policies & Legal Content
Where included within the agreed website package, AlterFox may assist with the preparation, drafting, setup or formatting of basic website policies, notices or other standard website content using information supplied by the customer.
Any such assistance is provided as general website and business support and does not constitute legal advice.
The customer remains responsible for ensuring that their website, business practices, policies and other published information comply with the laws, regulations and industry-specific requirements applicable to their particular business.
Legal and regulatory requirements can vary depending on the nature of the business, products and services offered, customers served, personal information collected and how the website operates.
Customers are therefore advised to review policies carefully and, where appropriate, obtain advice from a suitably qualified legal or other professional adviser.
The customer is responsible for informing AlterFox of any business-specific requirements that need to be reflected within website content or policies.
AlterFox does not guarantee that template, draft or general policy wording will be legally sufficient or appropriate for every business or circumstance.
Where a customer's website processes personal information, the customer remains responsible for ensuring its privacy information accurately reflects how that business collects, uses, stores and shares personal information.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, AlterFox's role in designing, configuring or assisting with a website does not transfer the customer's legal or regulatory responsibilities to AlterFox.
9. Domains, Hosting, Platforms & Third-Party Services
Website projects may involve third-party services including website platforms, domain registrars, hosting providers, applications, payment providers or other software.
Unless expressly included in the quotation, ongoing subscription, hosting, domain, application and other third-party charges are the customer's responsibility.
Following project handover, customers are responsible for maintaining accounts, subscriptions, payment methods and renewals held or transferred into their control.
AlterFox cannot guarantee the continued availability or functionality of a third-party platform or service and is not responsible for interruptions caused solely by third-party changes, outages or a customer's failure to maintain required accounts, subscriptions or renewals.
10. Search Engines & Online Results
Where AlterFox provides basic SEO, search-engine setup, Google Business support or similar digital services, the agreed service will be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Search engines and third-party platforms control their own algorithms, indexing, rankings and approval processes.
AlterFox therefore cannot guarantee specific search-engine rankings, website traffic, enquiries, sales or other commercial results.
11. Print, Workwear & Physical Products
Personalised, printed and made-to-order products will be produced according to the specifications approved by the customer.
Customers are responsible for confirming required garment sizes, quantities, personalisation details and other specifications before production.
Reasonable variations may occur between screens and physical products, production batches, materials and manufacturing or printing processes.
AlterFox may use trusted third-party trade suppliers, manufacturers and fulfilment providers to produce or deliver products.
The use of a third-party production partner does not affect the customer's statutory rights.
12. Production & Project Timescales
Estimated production or project timescales will be provided where appropriate.
Timescales normally begin once AlterFox has received everything reasonably required to proceed, which may include:
- Required payment
- Final specifications
- Artwork
- Website content
- Photographs
- Sizes and quantities
- Account access
- Customer approvals
Physical production times vary depending on the product, quantity, stock and production requirements.
Some large or bulk physical orders may take approximately 3 business weeks, although the applicable estimate will be communicated for the individual order.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, project and production timescales are estimates.
Where a statutory delivery timeframe applies, AlterFox will comply with applicable requirements unless another delivery period has been agreed with the customer.
Urgent or expedited work may be accepted at AlterFox's discretion and may incur an additional charge agreed with the customer.
13. Customer Delays & Project Inactivity
Customers are responsible for providing requested information, content, feedback and approvals within a reasonable timeframe.
Where a project is delayed because required information or approval has not been supplied, the original estimated completion date may no longer be achievable.
The project may need to be rescheduled around other booked work.
Where a project remains inactive for an extended period because the customer has not supplied required information, AlterFox may contact the customer to arrange a revised project schedule.
14. Changes to Scope
Quotations are based on an agreed scope of work.
Requests that materially change or expand the original requirements may result in:
- Additional charges;
- A revised quotation; and/or
- An extension to the project timeframe.
AlterFox will communicate material additional charges before undertaking the relevant additional work.
15. Consumer Cancellation Rights – Services
Where you are acting as a consumer and enter into a service contract with AlterFox at a distance, you will normally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period, subject to applicable exceptions.
If you request that AlterFox begins providing services during the cancellation period, we may require you to expressly request that work begins.
If you subsequently cancel during the cancellation period after expressly requesting that work begins, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already supplied up to the point of cancellation, where permitted by law.
Where a service has been fully performed during the cancellation period, the statutory cancellation right may be lost where the required express request and acknowledgement have been provided.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights where services fail to conform to applicable legal requirements.
16. Consumer Cancellation Rights – Goods
Consumers purchasing non-personalised goods at a distance will normally have statutory cancellation rights, subject to applicable exceptions.
The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not generally apply to goods that are made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised, where the relevant legal exemption applies.
This does not remove the customer's statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet applicable legal requirements.
Further information is contained in our Return & Refund Policy.
17. Faulty Goods & Services
Goods supplied to consumers must meet applicable statutory requirements, including being of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Services supplied to consumers will be performed with reasonable care and skill.
Where goods or services do not meet applicable legal requirements, customers may be entitled to statutory remedies.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts those statutory rights.
18. Intellectual Property in AlterFox Work
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, AlterFox retains ownership of its underlying working files, processes, concepts, templates and pre-existing intellectual property.
Rights relating to final bespoke designs and deliverables will depend on the service purchased and any ownership or licensing arrangements agreed for the individual project.
Third-party intellectual property remains the property of the relevant rights holder and remains subject to applicable licence terms.
Where ownership or usage rights in a bespoke final deliverable are to be transferred, any applicable conditions will be confirmed as part of the project agreement.
19. Portfolio Use
AlterFox may ask customers for permission to display completed projects as examples of our work on our website, social media or portfolio.
Where permission is required, we will obtain it before publication.
Client names, logos, trademarks and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
20. Delivery
Physical products will be supplied in accordance with our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery details.
If goods arrive damaged, incomplete or incorrect, customers should contact AlterFox promptly so that the issue can be investigated.
Our published correspondence address is not a customer collection point unless a collection arrangement has specifically been agreed elsewhere.
21. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, nor does anything in these Terms restrict statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
AlterFox will provide services with reasonable care and skill.
Subject to applicable law, AlterFox will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into or losses caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a customer is acting wholly in the course of a business, additional reasonable limitations of liability may be agreed as part of an individual quotation or project agreement.
22. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
AlterFox will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These may include significant supplier disruption, courier or postal disruption, technical outages, third-party platform failures, severe weather or transport disruption.
Where such circumstances affect an order or project, we will make reasonable efforts to minimise the impact and communicate significant delays.
This section does not remove any statutory rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
23. Privacy & Customer Data
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information supplied for a project will only be used or shared where reasonably necessary to provide the agreed products or services or comply with applicable legal requirements.
Where the nature of an ongoing service requires AlterFox to process personal data on behalf of a customer, additional data-processing terms may be required and agreed separately where applicable.
24. Changes to These Terms
AlterFox may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
The Terms applicable to an existing confirmed order or project will generally be those provided or made available when the contract was entered into, unless a change is required by law or otherwise agreed between the parties.
The latest version will be published on our website with the applicable revision date.
25. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of any mandatory legal protections or rights regarding jurisdiction that apply to you.
